Carmenkata
started her music-career in 1995, when she
became singer and songwriter of the band
dANSKLUp. dANSKLUp made it to the finals of the
Grote Prijs van Nederland. The band recorded the
album "I Kiss My Heart". dANSKLUp
supported the Cords, Van Dik Hout and Nilsson,
and had airplay on Radio 3FM. Late 1999,
Carmenkata decided to go solo. Carmenkata began
to record songs and finished her first solo cd
"In My LivingRoom" in 2000. This cd
got some very good reviews. In 2002 her second
album "Dear angel soft clown" appeared.
This time she produced the music together with
Halfhide.
Since December 2002 Carmenkata
now includes both Halfhide and Carmen. With
guitar, drums and a sampler, Carmenkata creates
a sound that's energetic and powerful. As a solo
artist, Carmen has proven to be a convincing
entertainer with disarmingly beautiful lyrics.
Now backed up by Halfhide, she puts her foot
down firmly in the realm of indierock, her voice
clear and catchy as ever.
