Joey Philips: In January 1997 the band Girl Wonder was formed. After writing and recording material by myself I wanted to try the music out with a live band. And it seemed to work out pretty good. We recorded several demo's and did quite a lot of gigs. But somehow in 1999 the band split up due to different views on which course to take.
So we quit playing together and I took a year off to write new material and to record a cd called "Mesh" with producer Phil Mills. On this cd electronic and dance influences made their mark.
"Mesh" got very good reviews in 'Fret' magazine of the National Pop Institute and 'Music Maker'. I started performing again with new bandmembers.
In 2002 I recorded new stuff together with producer Robert Moorman. How time flies; it's already 2003! And now I have formed a new band once more, and our first gig will be this month of May.
